Founded in 1985, XYZ publishes nearly 25 fiction and nonfiction titles a year, and many of its authors, both Quebecois and Canadian, have been honoured with prestigious literary prizes. Jocelyne Saucier’s last novel, Il pleuvait des oiseaux, was critically acclaimed and has now been translated into several languages. Anabiose (translated into English by House of Anansi under the title Captive) by Claudine Dumont was a breakout success last year, and her second novel, La petite fille qui aimait Stephen King, came out in September. The book will also be published in Italy (La Corte Editore) very soon.

Regardless of genre or style, XYZ’s commitment remains the same: to share its authors’ passion for their craft, and to broaden the reach of Quebec culture with powerful, engaging works of literature that contain sincere, meaningful messages and the power of potent dreams.

This year XYZ proudly celebrates its 30th anniversary.
