Lynne Bowen is the author of four books of history written for a general audience – Boss Whistle, Three Dollar Dreams, Muddling Through, and Those Lake People. Her books have won The Eaton’s British Columbia Book Award, The Lieutenant-Governor’s Medal for Writing British Columbia History, The Hubert Evans Prize for Creative Non-Fiction, and The Canadian Historical Association Regional Certificate of Merit for British Columbia and for The Prairies and the Yukon. Lynne Bowen is the Maclean Hunter Co-Chair of Creative Non-Fiction Writing at the University of British Columbia. She lives in Nanaimo on Vancouver Island.
